Mr Matt Bridges completed his medical degree at Leicester University in 1994. He embarked upon his post graduate training in Northampton as a junior doctor and from there, via London, to the North East of England.

Mr Bridges obtained his certificate of completion of specialist training in 2004, and he has now been a Consultant Rheumatologist for 10 years, being appointed Clinical Lead in rheumatology for County Durham and Darlington NHS trust in 2011.

His NHS practice is based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. He has particular interests in inflammatory arthritis, soft tissue rheumatism and osteoporosis. In addition, he has developed a research interest in the latter, resulting in numerous publications.
