  • Haematology training for 7 years in Bristol, Leeds and Seattle USA.
  • PhD for research into Acute Lymphoblastic leukaemia (Bristol).
  • Haematology Consultant posts: Bristol (1994-96), Royal Free Hospital, London (1996-2004) and Royal Marsden Hospital - Surrey and London  (2004 - current).
  • Head of Stem Cell Transplantation (2003 – current).
  • Other leadership roles: Head of Haematology Department (3 years) and Associate Medical Director of Royal Marsden (3 years) -  to 2018.
  • Educational Supervisor for trainee haematologists.
  • National Examiner for FRCPath Haematology (2000-2017).
  • Active in clinical research into haematology – oncology with over 160 publications to date.
  • Main interest now is clinical care of patients with a wide range of haematology conditions including treatment with chemotherapy, biological agents and stem cell transplantation.
  • Very experienced in investigation of new patients with clinical or laboratory haematological abnormalities. 
  • Over 20 years experience in clinical haematology at consultant level within NHS and private sectors.
  •  Extensive expertise in general haematology and haematology – oncology.
  • Offers treatment in patients with lymphomas, leukaemias, myeloma, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative conditions. Increasingly this includes this use of non chemotherapy approaches e.g. antibodies and othertargeted biological agents.
  • Friendly and positive attitude based on personal experience of seeing huge advances in treatments and outcomes for most blood disorders over the last 20 years.
