Muhammad Shahid

Personal profile

Mr. Shahid is a consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in lower limb surgery, addressing problems related to the hip, knee, foot and ankle. He is a fellowship trained foot and ankle surgeon and has special expertise in knee arthroscopy and hip & knee joint replacements. He has a keen interest in his field, and keeps up to date on new research and technologies by attending conferences and meetings at both national and international levels.

After graduating from medical school, Mr. Shahid underwent basic surgical training at a large teaching hospital in Pakistan. He then furthered his training in Trauma & Orthopaedics, both in Ireland and Great Britain. He has been awarded the Fellowship of the Intercollegiate board for Trauma and Orthopaedics, as well as a Masters degree in Orthopaedic surgery by the University of Dundee.

Muhammad takes a keen interest in the teaching and training of orthopaedic junior doctors, and teaches on courses at a national level.

He is actively involved in local community work and is elected chair of a committee managing a community centre. He enjoys much of his spare time with his family.
