Mr Per Hall
Consultant Plastic Surgeon
MB, BChir, FRCS (Plast)
Practices at: BMI St Edmunds Hospital
Facial plastic surgery: My main field of interest is cosmetic surgery, especially facial plastic surgery. Facial surgery includes facelifts, eyelid surgery, nose reshaping (rhinoplasty), surgery of congenital abnormalties and scarring.
Breast cosmetic surgery: The most common operation I perform is breast augmentation via either a sub mammary or sub muscular route with either silicone containing or salt water containing implants. I also commonly perform breast reduction and breast uplift operations using traditional and short scar techniques (Lejour technique) and breast equalisation surgery for congenital abnormalities.
Abdomen: I perform a range of procedures on the abdomen ranging from scar revision to mini abdominoplasty, traditional abdominoplasty and extended abdominoplasty for those with massive weight reduction.
Skin Cancer: I have a longstanding research interest in early detection and management of skin cancers and work closely with dermatology colleagues to look after patients with any potential skin cancer. Mole removal for cosmetic purposes as well as removal of worrying moles (suspicious perhaps of melanoma), skin cancers (such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous Cell carcinoma) are all things I commonly do – usually under local anaesthetic and often on a “One Stop” basis if appropriate.
Personal profile: Mr Per Hall was appointed as a consultant plastic surgeon in 1995. He was recently appointed as a surgeon with a special interest in cleft lip and palate at Addenbrooke’s Hospital NHS Trust, Cambridge where he is the Lead Clinician for this service for East Anglia. Mr Hall offers a wide variety of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures, from complex reconstructive surgery to more minor procedures. He has a long standing interest in skin cancer and its early detection using computer imaging. Per also is a volunteer surgeon for the Charity Operation Smile and travels to Ethiopia where he is helping establish a training program for Plastic Surgery and Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery
