Personal profile

Dr Peter Prouse is a Rheumatologist with extensive experience developed over 25 years as a consultant. Dr Prouse qualified from the University of Melbourne in 1975. He undertook his postgraduate training at Northwick Park Hospital, London and the Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children developing wide experience in the management of both adult and children with inflammatory arthritis, connection tissue disorders and osteoporosis. His MD Thesis was in the field of rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile arthritis. At the Hampshire Hospital NHS Trust he developed services for people with inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis and connective tissue disorders.

His particular interest is the management of inflammatory arthritis including Rheumatoid arthritis on which he has published many articles and continues to be actively involved in research trials. Over recent years Dr Prouse has been the Honorary Secretary of the British Society for Rheumatology and is the current chart for Rheumatology in the South Central Region of England.

He is also a board member of the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal alliance leading the development of recent publications getting standards core for a number of Rheumatic conditions including juvenile idiopathic arthritis endear.
