Personal profile

Mr Jalpota began his career in Ophthalmology in 1988 and spent a number of years working at one of the largest teaching hospitals in the North East where he was involved in the training and education of junior doctors.

He moved to Northampton in 2012 to start work as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital and three years later in 2015 set up an additional practice at BMI Three Shires where he currently holds a weekly clinic for private patients.

Throughout his career Mr Jalpota has gained extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ophthalmic conditions, ranging from general eye problems to glaucoma and cataracts. He regularly performs complicated cataract surgery and eyelid surgery.

Mr Jalpota spent some months completing specialist work and training at Moorfields Eye Hospital in Bedford, as a result of which he is one of the few Consultant Ophthalmologists in this country who has a qualification in Laser Refractive surgery.

He has also had the opportunity to learn different techniques of diagnosing ocular disease with ultrasound under the guidance of well-known Prof K. Ossoinig at The university of Iowa (USA).

Mr Jalpota is available to see private self-pay and insured patients and appointments can be booked online or by calling the hospital directly on 01604 620311.
