Personal profile

Mr Biswas studied medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and completed higher surgical training at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2002. He has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist, specialising in children’s eye conditions ever since.

Having receiving specialist training in his NHS role he performs corneal transplants, cataract and squint surgery on children as well as adult cataract surgery and YAG laser capsulotomy. In his private practice he performs cataract surgery and squint surgery in children and provides advice on managing a wide range of eye conditions, including allergic eye disease.

Since 2012 he has been Clinical Head of Division at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. He has over 50 publications in peer review journals and chapters in textbooks.
