Private Doctor in Rochdale

During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis, we are operating an amended private GP service:

  • Appointments: by phone only
  • Surgery times: Monday: 5:30pm to 7pm. Wednesday: 4:30pm to 6pm

We understand that it can sometimes be difficult to see your GP outside surgery hours, or that occasionally you may need more time to discuss your concerns.

That's why at BMI The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale our private GP service is available Monday and Wednesday, between 16:30 and 18:30.

Our private GP service, the only service of its kind in Rochdale, aims to provide you with exceptional and convenient ways to look after your health. The highly qualified general practitioners can provide services if you are unable to see your regular GP, would like more time to discuss your health concerns, or are in need of a second opinion.

This service is provided within a modern, fully equipped hospital enabling fast access to diagnostics, including blood tests, x-rays and scans, as well as immediate referral to consultants and specialists at the hospital if necessary.

What happens if I need to be referred to a consultant or I require further tests?

If you need to be referred to a consultant or require further investigations (blood tests, X-rays, ultrasound or MRI scan) you are not obliged to use BMI The Highfield Hospital services. Should you wish to continue your care under your NHS GP, with your consent, a letter will be sent to them outlining our recommendations for any further investigations or referral to a consultant of their choice.

If you choose to continue your treatment at BMI The Highfield Hospital, in most cases investigations can be carried out either on that day or the following day, with results available within 72 hours, and you can usually see a consultant within a few days of your appointment.
