The hospital also has access to some of the latest technology and equipment, including:
BMI Woodlands Hospital has 38 beds. Each en-suite room is fitted with a remote controlled flat screen television with an inbuilt entertainment system, with the provision to play CDs and DVDs. Internet access and movie channels are also available for a small charge.
The hospital has a wide bore fixed MRI scanner, a fully equipped gymnasium and an endoscopy unit in addition to the two laminar flow theatres. We offer an extensive range of inpatient / daycase (short stay) and outpatient services, supported by over 150 experienced consultants. We provide the very highest standards of modern medical care, and we are BUPA accredited for our breast care services.
All the staff here at BMI Woodlands Hospital are committed to ensuring you are confident and comfortable with every aspect of your visit. Our matron is on hand to address any concerns you may have, and we have resident medical officers available 24 hours a day.
Our dynamic outpatients department accommodates over 150 consultants covering a wide range of specialities, many of which are able to be provided as a same day investigation or procedure and / or a one-stop clinic including breast care, ENT, dermatology, ophthalmology, cosmetic procedures and general surgery. Additionally, a clinical treatment room is used for minor operative procedures, wound care clinics and nurse led clinics.
A member of the team is always on hand to provide patients with food and refreshments, whilst special light meals are prepared for those patients who have undergone a general anaesthetic.
We are happy to cater for patients and visitors who have special dietary requirements. Visitors are also welcome to join patients for meals in their rooms but there will be a small charge for this facility.
A surgical day case is a patient who is admitted for an operation on a planned non-resident basis who still requires facilities for recovery. The whole procedure should not require an overnight stay in a hospital bed.
Day surgery poses the least possible disruptions to the everyday life of the patient as they return home the same day as the surgical procedure.
Advantages of day surgery include the shortening the separation time from family members, diminished anxiety, and the possibility of recovery in a familiar setting, as well as:
Common procedures appropriate for Day Case or Ambulatory Care are routine and common surgical procedures such as surgery for cataracts, hernias, varicose veins, and hand conditions although many more procedures can be performed in Day Case Units if the patients are prepared adequately.
We are proud of our patient care and work hard to make each patient's time with us as pleasant as possible. Our patient satisfaction survey is an important indicator of how well we achieve this and we monitor the results very closely.
