North-East trained specialist Urologist, Mr Gowardhan was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Sunderland Royal Hospital in 2009. He has a diverse range of expertise in Urology, both general core Urology and specialised services in cancer management. He has extensive experience in laparoscopic kidney surgery and is a leading expert in Robotic Radical Prostatectomy (Da Vinci Robot) for prostate cancer at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Having trained in the North East as a specialist registrar, he has been exposed to almost all aspects of urological surgery and has gained the necessary skill-set to assess and manage most urological conditions. Mr Gowardhan has good experience in core urological procedures such as: TURP, TUR BT, circumcisions, scrotal procedures, vasectomy and cystoscopy – both rigid and flexible. Additionally, he is experienced in performing basic ureteroscopic procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic indications.
He has been working at Woodlands Hospital, offering private and NHS urology services since 2010 and is registered with most private insurance companies.
