Orthopaedic Surgery The Beaumont Hospital

The Beaumont Hospital is proud to offer a comprehensive range of orthopaedic services for patients in Bolton, Lancashire and further afield.

We ensure that all our patients receive high levels of care from the moment they arrive at our hospital and throughout their stay with us.

We provide treatment for a range of conditions such as osteoarthritis, back pain and sports injuries. Common surgeries we offer include, knee arthroscopy, knee replacement surgery, hip replacement surgery, spinal surgery and rotator cuff surgery.

Our consultants are supported by a team of healthcare professionals including, dedicated nurses and musculoskeletal radiologists.

If rehabilitation is required after surgery, our chartered physiotherapists will create a tailored plan of exercises that will ensure you get the most out of your recovery.

We cater to a wide range of orthopaedic treatments. Here are common surgeries we offer:

Knee Arthroscopy

Also known as keyhole surgery, a knee arthroscopy is performed by using a tiny camera that’s inserted into your knee. This helps to diagnose and treat problems relating to the knee joint.

Knee replacement surgery

Total knee replacement surgery can be performed to replace a damaged or deteriorated knee joint. It is then replaced with an artificial joint to help restore function and movement in the knee.

Hip replacement surgery

Hip replacement surgery is often carried out to provide relief from the painful symptoms of chronic conditions, such as osteoarthritis. The surgery itself involves removing the damaged hip joint and inserting an artificial joint.

Spinal surgery

We offer a range of spinal surgeries including lumbar microdisectomy, lumbar spinal decompression and cervical spine surgery. Effective spinal surgery can relieve pain and improve your quality of life.

Rotator Cuff Surgery

The rotator cuff is one of the most important parts of your shoulder. Rotator cuff surgery is performed to repair a torn or damaged rotator cuff. If non-surgical methods, such as physiotherapy or steroid injections are no longer effective, then surgery may be recommended.

Lipogems therapy

The Beaumont Hospital is now offering Lipogems therapy with Mr Gordon Shepard. The Beaumont Hospital is the only hospital in the Bolton area and across the network currently offering this treatment.

Patients with moderate osteoarthritis and those with sports injuries or other problems affecting tendons, ligaments and muscles may benefit from the Lipogems treatment. Where physiotherapy or steroid injections have not provided significant relief, Lipogems can be a suitable minimally invasive alternative to major surgical intervention.
