BMI The Saxon Clinic in Milton Keynes has over 30 years of experience in providing high-quality and entirely patient-centric adult and paediatric orthopaedic care.
Working with trauma and orthopaedic surgeons, we are proud to offer patients a high level of treatment from our orthopaedic consultants.
Whether treatment is required for the hip, knee, elbow, shoulder, wrist, ankle or back, our consultants provide high quality, patient focused care supported by modern technology and procedures. This enables us to deliver a clear and comfortable patient care pathway from diagnosis to treatment and through to recovery.
We offer a wide range of simple and complex orthopaedic treatments. Common surgeries we cover include:
Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is essential to keeping your knee stable. Injuries to the ACL can occur when the knee joint is twisted, often through sports. If the ACL becomes damaged or torn, anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery may be required.
Total and partial knee replacements
Depending on the extent of damage to your knee joint, we offer total knee replacement surgery (where the whole knee is replaced) or partial knee replacement surgery (where just one part of the knee is replaced). If you require knee surgery, your consultant surgeon will advise which treatment is most suited to your needs.
Also called keyhole surgery, a knee arthroscopy is a procedure which involves inserting a tiny camera into the knee to help diagnose and treat problems with the knee joint.
Total hip replacement
Over time, the hip joint can become damaged and worn through wear and tear or as a result of degenerative conditions, such as arthritis. If painful symptoms are affecting your day-to-day life, hip surgery may be advised. A total hip replacement involves replacing your entire hip with an artificial joint.
A lumbar microdisectomy is performed to remove pressure from a herniated disc in the lower back. The aim of this surgery is to relieve sciatica pain which can cause pain down the legs, numbness and weakness.
Carpal tunnel syndrome treatment
Carpal tunnel syndrome is caused by pressure on one nerve in your wrist. It can cause symptoms including pain, numbness and tingling. Wrist support and specific exercises can help to relieve pain, however in some cases medical treatment may be advised.
Dupuytren’s disease is when the fingers or thumb contract towards the palm. You can’t get rid of Dupuytren’s disease, but injections or surgery can help.
At the Saxon Clinic our primary focus is the provision of personalised, patient focussed care. Our consultants work very closely with an extremely dedicated and professional team of anaesthetists, chartered physiotherapists and nurses to always ensure that our patients receive the best possible care within the shortest waiting time.
